Amazon PPC automatic vs manual is really two questions. Inside Amazon, automatic targeting lets Amazon pick the search terms and manual targeting lets you pick keywords and products; most accounts should run both. Outside Amazon, manual means managing bids by hand and automated means software does the work, either by rules that run alone or by suggestions you apply. This page covers both.
| Console by hand | Rule or AI automation | Suggestion tools (BlooprintAI) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplaces | Amazon.in, Amazon.ae, one console each | Mostly Amazon; a few add Flipkart | Amazon India, UAE, Flipkart, Shopsy |
| Amazon.in support | Yes | Varies; Scale Insights and Zonbase do not | Yes |
| Flipkart support | Separate Seller Hub console | Hector, Artha360, Mark8 IQ, Adyogi only | Yes |
| Pricing and currency | Free, CPC only (checked 29 Sep 2026) | USD $149 to $799/month typical; some INR or demo-only (checked 29 Sep 2026) | Rs 14,999/month Amazon, Rs 12,999 Flipkart + Shopsy (checked 29 Sep 2026) |
| INR pricing | Ad spend only | Adyogi yes; most no | Yes |
| Free trial | Not applicable | Varies from none to 30 days | 7 days, no card |
| Bulk campaign creation | Bulk sheets | Some (Hector, SellerApp) | One CSV per campaign type |
| Automation model | None; you do everything | Rules or algorithms change bids without you | Filters and suggested bids; you approve and apply in bulk |
| Best for | Small accounts | Sellers who want hands-off bidding | Sellers and agencies who want scale with control |
This is Amazon's own feature, and it is not either-or. Automatic targeting campaigns let Amazon match your ads to search terms and products it thinks are relevant; you set a bid and a budget and read the search term report. Manual campaigns let you choose keywords with broad, phrase or exact match, or target specific ASINs and categories.
The standard structure on Amazon.in is the same as anywhere else: run an auto campaign to discover what converts, move the converting search terms into manual exact and phrase campaigns with their own bids, and add the wasteful ones as negatives in both. Blooprint's Amazon ads guide on blooprint.in covers campaign structure in full; the point here is that automatic targeting is a discovery tool, not a way to avoid managing ads.
Once campaigns are live the work is repetitive: read reports, find keywords that are over or under target, change bids, add negatives, adjust budgets, repeat. Doing that by hand in the console works for a small account. Beyond a few hundred keywords it stops happening as often as it should. Software takes over that work in one of two ways.
Tools such as Helium 10 Ads, SellerApp, Hector, Artha360, Perpetua and Teikametrics change bids on a schedule or continuously according to rules or targets you set. Strength: nothing is missed. Risk: a wrong rule or a data lag during a sale event acts before you see it.
BlooprintAI works this way. It puts every target in one table, filters by ACoS, CPC, CVR or spend, shows Amazon's suggested bid next to yours, and applies the change you approve to hundreds of targets at once, with a summary first and a log after. Strength: every change has a reason you signed off. Limit: if you never run the review, nothing changes.
How BlooprintAI works, so this comparison is fair: it is bulk-workflow software, not a bidding robot. It creates campaigns in bulk from a CSV, filters keywords and targets by ACoS, CPC, CVR or spend, shows suggested bids, and applies the bid, budget and placement changes you approve, with a summary first and a log afterwards. It does not auto-bid, run hourly rules, add negatives on its own, daypart, or offer a custom dashboard builder. If you want fully hands-off bidding, some of the tools on this page do that and BlooprintAI does not.
| Situation | Suggested approach |
|---|---|
| Under 10 campaigns, one marketplace | Console by hand, weekly review |
| Hundreds of keywords, one person, wants to touch ads once a week | Rule or AI automation |
| Amazon.in plus Flipkart or Shopsy | Suggestion tool with both marketplaces, or a Flipkart-capable rules tool |
| Agency with client accounts and accountability | Suggestion tool with change logs |
| Sale events like Great Indian Festival | Whichever you pick, pre-set budgets and review daily; do not let rules run unattended |
Sellers on the Amazon.in forums ask whether a tool can run ads on a budget, pause campaigns that burn money and launch new ones from the last keyword report. No tool we have reviewed does all of that unattended safely, and Amazon's own reply to that question pointed at auto targeting, dynamic bidding, budget rules and the search term report, which are all free. Treat any tool that promises fully hands-free growth with care, and check what it does during the first week of a trial.

Learn more →Both. Automatic targeting finds search terms you would not have guessed; manual targeting lets you bid precisely on the ones that convert. Most Amazon.in accounts run auto campaigns for discovery and manual exact and phrase campaigns for control.
Once the account has hundreds of keywords or more than one marketplace, yes, because bid reviews stop happening by hand. Under that, the free console with a weekly hour is usually enough.
It automates the work, not the decision. Bulk campaign creation, filtered bid reviews with suggested bids and bulk updates are automated; the choice to apply a change is yours. There is no auto-bidding or hourly optimisation.
Helium 10 Ads, SellerApp, Hector, Artha360, Mark8 IQ, Perpetua, Teikametrics and m19 all describe rule-based or algorithmic bidding on their sites. BlooprintAI does not.
Rules can, but data lags and CPC spikes during events like the Great Indian Festival make unattended rules risky. Pre-load budgets, review daily and keep manual control over hero products whichever tool you use.
Amazon's own bid adjustment: down only lowers your bid when a sale looks unlikely, up and down also raises it when a sale looks likely. It is free, works in the console and is separate from third-party automation.
