Amazon ads getting no impressions: the checklist

An Amazon ad with zero impressions is not entering the auction at all. The cause is eligibility (Buy Box, stock, listing), a bid below the auction floor, or a structural block such as an end date, a negative keyword or an empty wallet. This checklist takes ten minutes and covers the causes raised in the Seller Central India forum thread that drew 13 replies on exactly this problem.

Zero impressions and low impressions are different problems

If a campaign shows exactly zero impressions after 24 hours, something is blocking it from serving. If it shows a few hundred impressions a day against a budget that could buy thousands, it is serving but losing auctions. The first is fixed by removing the block; the second is fixed by bids and targeting. Blooprint's Amazon ads not working troubleshooting guide covers the wider set of symptoms; this page is the impressions checklist only.

Eligibility checks

  1. Buy Box

Sponsored Products only serve for the featured offer. If another seller or Amazon Retail holds the Buy Box on your ASIN, your ad shows as ineligible. Fix: match price and fulfilment, or advertise a different ASIN.

  2. Stock

Out-of-stock ASINs do not serve. For FBA, check that the units are received, not just shipped. Fix: wait for inventory to show as available, then the ad resumes.

  3. Listing status

A suppressed, inactive or search-suppressed listing has no page to send clicks to. Fix: resolve the listing quality alert in Manage Inventory.

  4. Category and policy

Some categories and claims are restricted for advertising. Amazon's ads policy pages list them. Fix: edit the listing copy or images that triggered the flag and resubmit.

Bid checks

  1. Bid against the suggested range

If your bid sits below the low end of the suggested range, you lose nearly every auction. Fix: move your best keywords to the low end of the range and hold for three days.

  2. Placement adjustments

A 0% adjustment everywhere is fine, but a low base bid with Dynamic bids, down only can push your effective bid under the floor at peak hours. Fix: try Fixed bids for a week to isolate the effect.

  3. Keyword match and volume

Three long exact-match keywords may simply have no searches. Fix: add phrase or broad variants, or an auto campaign, to see which terms Amazon can find.

Structure checks

  1. Dates and portfolio budget

A passed end date or a portfolio that has spent its budget cap stops delivery quietly. Fix: clear the end date or raise the portfolio cap.

  2. Wallet balance

On Amazon India, a zero seller ads wallet stops every campaign. Fix: recharge and wait an hour.

  3. Negatives

A campaign-level negative phrase such as your own brand name blocks the terms you most want. Fix: review negatives for over-broad phrases.

  4. New campaign delay

A campaign approved this morning can take several hours to serve, and reports lag behind. Fix: wait 24 hours before changing anything.

  5. Sponsored Brands review

Sponsored Brands creatives go through moderation before serving. Fix: check the campaign for a rejected creative and edit it.

Low impressions: when the ad serves but keeps losing

If impressions are in the low hundreds against a budget that could buy thousands, the ad is eligible and entering auctions but losing most of them. That is a bid and relevance problem, not a block. Raise bids on the five keywords with the best conversion history to the low end of the suggested range and leave the rest, then wait three days. If impressions rise but clicks do not, the ad is winning low-value placements; check the placement report and shift the adjustment towards the placement that converts.

Relevance also decides how many auctions you enter. Amazon shows ads it expects to earn from, so a keyword that has never converted on your listing will get fewer impressions at the same bid than one that has. Moving proven search terms from auto into exact match campaigns is the slow, reliable way to grow impressions without simply paying more.

Doing this across many campaigns

The checklist above is fine for one campaign. With fifty, you want a table of every campaign and keyword with impressions, bid, suggested bid and status side by side, sorted by impressions ascending. That is what BlooprintAI's ad analysis view gives you. You select the keywords that are below the suggested range, set new bids in bulk, and confirm after seeing the summary. There is no automatic bidding; the change is yours to approve.

If the account is also showing wasted spend elsewhere, the free PPC audit is a quick first pass.

Frequently asked questions

Why are my Amazon Sponsored Products ads not showing at all?

Nine times out of ten the ad is ineligible: no Buy Box, no stock or a suppressed listing. Open the ad group and read the status column before touching bids.

How many impressions should an Amazon campaign get per day?

There is no fixed number. Compare with the daily budget: if a ₹500 budget is buying twenty clicks and a few thousand impressions, delivery is normal. Zero or double digits after 24 hours means a block.

Does a low bid give zero impressions?

A low bid usually gives some impressions, just few. Exactly zero for a day points to eligibility, dates or wallet rather than bid.

Why does a new Amazon campaign show no impressions on day one?

New campaigns can take several hours to serve and reports lag. Wait a full day before changing bids or budget.

Can a negative keyword stop all impressions?

Yes, if it is broad enough. A negative phrase that matches your product's main term blocks nearly every search.
