What does a Flipkart ad cost? The rate card explained

Flipkart ad cost is set by auction rather than a fixed rate card: Product Listing Ads are paid per click at whatever the bid competition requires, Product Contextual Ads are paid per thousand impressions, and 18% GST is added to spend. Only managed brand packages, such as homepage takeovers, come with a quoted price, and Flipkart's brand team gives that on request.

PLA
Per click, auction; about ₹3 to ₹30 by category (agency table)
PCA
Per 1,000 impressions
Minimum
₹300 a day floor quoted; ₹500 to ₹1,000 practical
Tax
18% GST on ad spend, input credit claimable
Worked example
₹10 CPC x 60 clicks = ₹600 a day + ₹108 GST

How Flipkart ad cost is worked out

There is no price list for PLA. Each time a shopper searches or browses, the eligible ads enter an auction and the bid, expected conversion and listing quality decide who shows where. You pay per click, at most your bid for that placement. In a Smart ROI campaign Flipkart sets the bid to aim at your target ROI, so cost per click moves with competition. PCA banners run on a CPM, a price per thousand impressions, set by bid as well.

Worked example: a fashion seller bids around ₹10 per click and wants 60 clicks a day across two FSNs. Daily spend is ₹600, and with 18% GST the cash cost is ₹708, of which ₹108 is claimable input credit. At a 5% conversion rate that is three orders a day; on a ₹799 product, ₹2,397 of revenue, an ROI of 4. Over a 30-day month the campaign costs ₹18,000 plus GST.

The phrase 'Flipkart ads rate card' usually leads to media-buying sites listing brand packages. Those are managed placements, not what a seller pays for PLA, and figures on them are rarely from Flipkart.

Figures from gonukkad, an Indian agency, not Flipkart; treat them as a starting range. Agencies also report CPCs rising two to three times during Big Billion Days. Blooprint's Flipkart seller fees guide on blooprint.in covers commission and shipping; this page covers ad cost only.

Keeping Flipkart ad cost in check

  • Work the affordable bid from margin: price divided by target ROI, times conversion rate.
  • Read the placement report; one placement usually carries most of the waste.
  • Add non-converting search terms as negatives weekly.
  • Set end dates so budgets are not held as blocked balance.
  • Claim the 18% GST on ad invoices as input credit; it is a real part of cash cost until you do.

How much does it cost to advertise on Flipkart?

Whatever your bids and budgets add up to, plus 18% GST. Agencies report ₹3 to ₹30 per click by category and ₹500 to ₹1,000 a day as a practical per-campaign budget.

What is the minimum budget for Flipkart ads?

Blooprint's Flipkart ads guide quotes ₹300 a day as the floor. Agencies suggest ₹500 to ₹1,000 a day per campaign for enough clicks to learn from.

Is GST charged on Flipkart ads?

Yes, 18% on ad spend. Invoices are in Seller Hub payments, and registered sellers can usually claim input tax credit.
