Bid optimization (optimisation in British spelling) is the practice of raising or lowering the cost-per-click bid on each keyword, target or placement using its performance data, so that you pay no more per click than an order on that keyword is worth. It applies to Amazon Sponsored ads, Flipkart PLA CPC campaigns, noon and every other auction-priced marketplace ad.
The anchor is the bid a keyword can afford. Multiply the selling price by the target ACoS to get the ad spend you can accept per order, then multiply by the conversion rate to spread that over the clicks it takes to win one order. A ₹999 product with a 25% target ACoS can spend ₹250 per ad order; at an 8% conversion rate that is 12.5 clicks per order, so the affordable CPC is ₹250 / 12.5 = ₹20.
Optimisation then compares each keyword's actual figures with that anchor. A keyword converting at 12% can afford ₹30; one converting at 4% can afford ₹10. A keyword with a 4% CVR bidding ₹20 is overpaying by half, and its ACoS will show it at 50%. The job is to move each bid towards its own affordable CPC, using enough clicks to trust the CVR.
On Flipkart the same arithmetic runs through ROI: with a target ROI of 4 (ACoS 25%) and the same price and CVR, the affordable PLA bid is again ₹20. On Amazon UAE it is the identical formula in AED.
| Method | How bids change | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Manual | You read the report and edit each bid | Under 50 keywords |
| Filtered bulk | Filter by ACoS, CVR, spend; review a suggested list; apply in bulk | Hundreds to thousands of keywords, reviewed weekly |
| Rule-based | Software fires if-then rules on a schedule | Accounts with stable data and a floor bid |
| Algorithmic | A model predicts conversion and sets bids | Large budgets; least transparent |
BlooprintAI uses the second method. It filters keywords and targets by ACoS, CPC, CVR and spend, shows suggested bids, and applies your edited list in bulk with a summary first and a log after. It does not run rules or an algorithm by itself. Blooprint's glossary on blooprint.in covers dynamic bidding and placement adjustments, the two Amazon settings that sit on top of whichever method you use.

Affordable CPC = selling price x target ACoS x conversion rate. A ₹999 product at 25% target ACoS and 8% CVR supports a bid of about ₹20 per click.
There is no single one. Start with fixed or down-only dynamic bids, set bids from the affordable-CPC formula, review every two weeks, and only move to up-and-down bidding on keywords with proven conversion.
No. It filters keywords by ACoS, CPC, CVR and spend, shows suggested bids and applies your changes in bulk after you confirm a summary. There is no automatic or hourly bidding.
Weekly or fortnightly on Amazon and Flipkart for most accounts. Daily changes react to unattributed data and undo themselves; monthly changes leave wasted spend running too long.
