CTR (click-through rate) is clicks divided by impressions, shown as a percentage. It measures how often shoppers who see your ad click it. Enter impressions and clicks from your campaign report and this calculator returns CTR and the impressions you need per click. It works for Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and any ad report with those two columns.
Take impressions and clicks for the same campaign, keyword, search term or placement over the same period.
Worked example: a keyword got 40,000 impressions and 180 clicks last month. CTR is 180 ÷ 40,000 × 100 = 0.45%. Roughly one shopper in 222 who saw the ad clicked it.
Compare CTR within a placement. Top-of-search ads sit above organic results and usually get a far higher CTR than product-page ads, so an account-level average hides more than it shows.
| Pattern | Likely cause | First thing to try |
|---|---|---|
| Low CTR on a broad or auto keyword | The ad shows on loosely related searches | Check the search term report; negate irrelevant queries |
| Low CTR on an exact keyword | The listing loses on the results page | Main image, price, rating count and title against the products next to you |
| High CTR, low conversion | The ad promises something the listing does not deliver | Price, size or variant mismatch; read the listing as a shopper |
| CTR falling over weeks | New competitors, a price change, or rating drop | Look at who now sits beside you on that search |
| Low CTR on product pages only | Normal for that placement | Judge product-page ads by ACoS, not CTR |
There is no reliable public CTR benchmark for Amazon India or Flipkart broken down by category and placement, and numbers quoted from US tools do not transfer. The useful comparisons are your own: the same keyword last quarter, exact against broad for the same product, and your product against the account average.
CTR also does not measure profit. A keyword with a modest CTR and a strong conversion rate often beats a high-CTR keyword whose clicks do not buy. Judge keywords by ACoS or ROI first and use CTR to diagnose why one is weak.
In BlooprintAI every keyword, target and search term shows impressions, CTR, CPC, CVR and ACoS in one row, across all campaigns, so a low-CTR keyword that is also expensive stands out. You can filter to them and lower bids or add negatives in bulk, after a summary, with a log.

There is no reliable public benchmark by category and placement. Compare a keyword with its own history and with similar keywords in your account, and judge profitability by ACoS, not CTR.
Either the ad is shown on searches that do not match the product (check the search term report) or it loses on the results page to better images, prices or ratings. Product-page placements always run lower CTR.
Sometimes. A higher bid can win top-of-search placement, where CTR is higher, but it also raises CPC. Fix relevance and the listing before paying for position.
