Conversion rate calculator for Amazon ads

Conversion rate (CVR) in Amazon ads is orders divided by clicks, shown as a percentage. It tells you how many ad clicks turn into purchases, and it is the number every maximum-bid calculation depends on. Enter clicks and orders from your campaign report to get CVR and how many clicks one order costs you.

Formula
CVR = orders ÷ clicks × 100

Calculate conversion rate

Use clicks and orders for the same campaign, keyword or ASIN over the same dates. Orders, not units: one order of three units is one conversion.

Conversion rate: –Clicks per order: –

Worked example: a keyword got 400 clicks and 36 orders in 30 days. CVR is 36 ÷ 400 × 100 = 9%. On average it takes about 11 clicks to get one order, so at a ₹10 CPC each order costs about ₹111 in ads.

Small samples mislead. A keyword with 12 clicks and 2 orders shows 16.7%, but one more order or one fewer changes it by eight points. Wait for at least 30 to 50 clicks before trusting a keyword's CVR.

Why conversion rate matters more than CTR

Conversion rate turns clicks into money. The maximum you can pay per click and stay at your target ACoS is price × CVR × target ACoS. Raise CVR from 6% to 9% on a ₹999 product with a 25% target and the maximum bid rises from ₹14.99 to ₹22.48, without touching the bid formula.

That is why a listing fix often beats a bid change. Better images, a sharper price, more reviews or a clearer title raise CVR for every keyword at once.

Reading CVR across an account

  • Branded keywords convert far higher than generic ones; keep them in separate campaigns so they do not flatter the average
  • Exact match usually converts better than broad or auto for the same product
  • A high-CVR keyword on low spend is a Hidden Gem: raising its bid is the cheapest growth available
  • A falling CVR across all keywords for one ASIN points to the listing, stock or price, not the ads

CVR for every keyword at once

BlooprintAI shows CVR next to clicks, spend, CPC and ACoS for every keyword and target, and its Hidden Gems bucket lists high-CVR keywords with little spend. Filter, check the summary, and raise those bids together; every run is logged.

Frequently asked questions

What is the conversion rate formula for Amazon ads?

CVR = orders ÷ clicks × 100. 36 orders from 400 clicks is 9%. Use orders, not units, and the same period and level for both.

What is a good conversion rate for Amazon ads?

It varies too much by category, price and match type for one benchmark. Compare a keyword with your own account: branded and exact keywords should convert well above broad and auto ones.

How does conversion rate affect my bid?

Maximum CPC = price × CVR × target ACoS. A ₹999 product at 9% CVR and 25% target ACoS supports a bid up to about ₹22.48; at 6% only ₹14.99.

How many clicks do I need before trusting CVR?

At least 30 to 50 clicks per keyword. Below that one order more or less swings the percentage by several points.

Is ad conversion rate the same as Unit Session Percentage?

No. Unit Session Percentage in Business Reports is units divided by sessions for all traffic. Ad CVR is ad-attributed orders divided by ad clicks.
