Flipkart issues a monthly tax invoice for advertising spend, found under the Payments section of Seller Hub rather than inside the Ads panel. Ad spend carries 18% GST, and because advertising is a business expense that GST is claimable as input tax credit. This page covers where the invoice sits, what each line means, and the reconciliation that keeps your accountant happy.
Sellers look for the ads invoice in the Ads panel because that is where they see the spend. It is not there. Flipkart treats advertising like every other charge it bills you, so the tax invoice appears in the Payments area of Seller Hub alongside commission, shipping and fee invoices, as the 'Billing and Invoicing on Flipkart Ads Platform' walkthrough on YouTube shows.
The Ads panel shows spend as it happens, before tax and before the month closes. The invoice shows the billed figure with GST for the whole month. The two should match once you add 18% to the panel total, and most of the questions accountants raise come from comparing the wrong pair of numbers.
Blooprint's Flipkart ads guide covers setting up campaigns; this page only covers the paperwork after the money is spent.
Use the seller login, not the Ads Academy login. The invoices and statements area lists every document Flipkart has issued to your GSTIN.
Advertising invoices are listed separately from the marketplace fee invoice. Pick the month you are reconciling; invoices for a month are usually available in the first week of the next.
The PDF is the tax invoice you file. The statement, where available, gives the spend breakdown that backs the invoice total.
The invoice must show your GSTIN and the correct state, otherwise the input credit will not reflect in your GSTR-2B. Fix the GSTIN in Seller Hub before the next month closes if it is wrong.
| Line | What it is | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Taxable value | Ad spend for the month before tax | Matches the Ads panel monthly total |
| CGST + SGST or IGST | 18% split by whether Flipkart's billing state matches yours | Adds up to 18% of taxable value |
| Invoice total | Taxable value plus tax | This is what left the wallet or will leave the next payout |
| Funding note | Wallet, ads credit or Advertise Now Pay Later | Informational; tax is identical |
A worked example: the Ads panel shows ₹50,000 of spend in a month. The invoice shows a taxable value of ₹50,000, GST of ₹9,000 and a total of ₹59,000. The ₹9,000 is the input tax credit you claim against GST collected on your sales. If your wallet top-ups in that month were ₹59,000, the cash reconciles exactly; if you funded ads through Advertise Now Pay Later, the ₹59,000 is recovered from the next payout instead.
Advertising is an eligible business expense, so the GST on the invoice is claimable as input tax credit in the normal way: the invoice must be in your GSTIN, Flipkart must have filed it so it appears in your GSTR-2B, and you claim it in GSTR-3B for that period. Your accountant does not need anything special beyond the PDF.
Two things cause claims to be rejected. The first is a wrong or old GSTIN on the seller account, common after a change of entity. The second is claiming on the Ads panel total rather than on the invoice, which is a different number in a month where spend crossed the month boundary or a promotional credit was applied. Free ads credit that Flipkart gives you is not spend you paid for, so no input credit arises on it.
Sellers with more than one account, or running Flipkart next to Amazon, usually keep this in a spreadsheet. BlooprintAI's Flipkart reporting exports spend per campaign and per day to Excel, so the panel side of the reconciliation is one download rather than a screen-by-screen copy.

Yes, 18% on the ad spend. The Ads panel shows spend before tax; the invoice adds GST. Wallet top-ups and Advertise Now Pay Later deductions both include it.
Yes. Advertising is a business expense, so the GST on the invoice is claimable as input credit, provided the invoice carries your GSTIN and shows up in your GSTR-2B for the period.
The invoice includes 18% GST and covers the calendar month as billed. Compare the taxable value on the invoice with the panel total, and check for promotional credit, which is spend you did not pay for and is not invoiced.
Shopsy uses the same seller backend and ads system as Flipkart, so ad spend on both is billed to the same seller account and appears on the same advertising invoice.
