Flipkart defines ROI in its ads dashboard as ad revenue divided by ad spend, a multiple rather than a percentage, so an ROI of 8 means ₹8 of sales for every ₹1 spent. That is what Amazon calls ROAS, not a net return. Enter spend and revenue to get ROI the way Flipkart shows it and the equivalent ACoS.
Take ad spend and ad revenue (ads GMV) for the same campaign and date range from the Flipkart ads dashboard or the campaign report.
Worked example: a PLA campaign spent ₹5,000 and produced ₹40,000 of ad revenue. Flipkart shows ROI 8. The equivalent ACoS is 5,000 ÷ 40,000 × 100 = 12.5%. If you also run Amazon ads, that is the number to compare with your Amazon campaigns.
Flipkart's revenue figure is gross merchandise value, before returns and cancellations, so a category with high returns will look better in ROI than it does in settlement.
The three marketplaces sellers in India use most report the same relationship three ways.
| Flipkart ROI | Amazon ROAS | Amazon ACoS |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 2x | 50% |
| 3 | 3x | 33.3% |
| 4 | 4x | 25% |
| 5 | 5x | 20% |
| 8 | 8x | 12.5% |
| 10 | 10x | 10% |
Myntra, Blinkit and Zepto dashboards use ROAS or ROI in the same sense. Meesho also reports ROI as revenue over spend.
The floor is break-even ROI, which is selling price divided by profit before ads. A product with a 35% margin breaks even at 1 ÷ 0.35 = 2.86, so an ROI of 3 is barely profitable and an ROI of 8 is comfortable. A product with a 15% margin needs ROI above 6.7 just to break even.
Sellers quote targets like 4 or 5 for Flipkart, and Smart ROI campaigns ask for a target ROI directly. Set that target from your margin, not from a rule of thumb; a target set too high starves the campaign of impressions, which is one of the most common reasons a Flipkart campaign stops spending. Blooprint's Flipkart ads guide on blooprint.in covers the campaign types; this page only converts the numbers.
Flipkart's dashboard gives ROI per campaign. BlooprintAI's Flipkart reporting breaks it down by FSN, placement and search term, puts Smart ROI and CPC campaigns side by side, and lets you update budgets and placement bids in bulk from the same tables.
The definition, why it is a ROAS, and what a good figure looks like.

Learn more →Return on ad spend as a multiple, with the matching ACoS, for sellers who think in x rather than %.
Learn more →PLA campaigns from a CSV, placement bids and keywords in bulk, and reporting the seller dashboard does not give you. ₹12,999 per month.
Learn more →ROI = ad revenue ÷ ad spend, shown as a multiple. ₹40,000 of ad revenue on ₹5,000 of spend is ROI 8. It is gross revenue over spend, not profit over cost.
ACoS = 100 ÷ ROI. ROI 8 is 12.5% ACoS; ROI 4 is 25% ACoS. ROI and Amazon's ROAS are the same calculation.
Above your break-even ROI, which is price ÷ profit before ads. A 35% margin needs ROI above 2.86; a 15% margin needs above 6.7. Common targets of 4 or 5 only make sense if your margin allows them.
No. Ad revenue is gross, before returns and cancellations. Adjust for your return rate if you want ROI on net sales.
Yes. Shopsy ads run on Flipkart's advertising system and report ROI the same way.
