Amazon Ads in India charges in one of two ways. Accounts on the Seller Ads wallet pay upfront and spend is deducted from the balance as clicks happen. Accounts on card or invoicing are charged when accumulated spend reaches a billing threshold or at the end of the month, whichever comes first, as Amazon's billing help page describes. Which one you are on decides what a payment failure does.
Open the Amazon Ads console, then Billing and payments. If you see a wallet balance and a recharge button, you are on the Seller Ads wallet, which is what most Indian seller accounts opened in the last few years use. If you see a card on file and a list of invoices with due dates, you are on postpaid billing. Vendor accounts and some older seller accounts are billed by invoice.
The distinction matters because the two fail differently. A wallet at zero stops every campaign in the account the moment the balance is used up. A failed card charge keeps ads running for a while and then suspends advertising until the invoice is paid, per Amazon's help page on payment failures.
Every click is added to an open balance. You can see the running total under Billing.
Amazon's billing help explains that the card is charged when the balance reaches your billing threshold or at the end of the calendar month, whichever comes first. The threshold starts low for new accounts and rises with payment history.
Each charge produces a tax invoice with the 18% GST line. Our invoice and GST guide covers downloading it and claiming input credit.
Amazon retries the card for a few days. If it keeps failing, campaigns are paused and a notice appears in the console. Update the card and the outstanding invoice is charged, then ads resume.
There is no cycle in the postpaid sense. You add money, spend is deducted as it happens, and invoices are issued for each recharge rather than for each period of spend. This is why sellers on the Seller Central India forum ask how to get GST invoices for wallet-paid spend: the recharge invoice and the spend statement are separate documents. Amazon can also take the balance slightly negative when clicks arrive faster than the deduction, which our wallet guide explains along with refunds of unused balance.
The practical rule for wallet accounts is to keep at least a week of spend as a buffer, and two weeks before a sale event, because a zero balance at 11 pm on a Friday stops every campaign until someone recharges on Monday.
Daily budget is an average, not a hard cap. Amazon's help page on budgets says a campaign can spend more than its daily budget on a busy day as long as the calendar-month total stays within the daily budget multiplied by the days in the month. A seller post on the India forum titled How to Stop Draining Your Ad Budget NOW warns that a ₹1,000 budget can show ₹2,000 of spend on a single day. Over a month it evens out, but a single invoice can look higher than budget times days if the month started with quiet days and ended with a sale.
The other reason is attribution. Sales are credited up to seven days after the click for seller accounts, so the ACoS on an invoice period settles a week after the period closes. Judge the bill by spend, and judge the campaign a week later.
The console shows charges in one place and campaign results in another. BlooprintAI's reporting pulls daily spend, sales and ACoS for Amazon India into one dashboard with an Excel export, so you can reconcile an invoice period against the campaigns that produced it in a few minutes. It does not touch billing or the wallet; recharges and card changes stay in the Amazon console.

Amazon retries the card for a few days, then pauses advertising until the invoice is paid. Update the payment method under Billing and campaigns resume once the charge clears.
Daily budget is a monthly average. Amazon can spend above it on a busy day as long as the month stays within daily budget times days in the month, per Amazon's help page on budgets.
Yes, 18% GST appears on every Amazon Ads tax invoice in India. Registered sellers can claim it as input credit.
Unused balance can be refunded through a Seller Support case. Spent amounts are not refundable unless Amazon identifies invalid clicks, which it removes before billing.
