Amazon PPC is pay-per-click advertising run inside Amazon, where a seller or brand pays only when a shopper clicks the ad. It covers Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, all bought through the Amazon Ads console on a per-click auction. In India the bids are in rupees and the spend attracts 18% GST.
You choose products to advertise, pick keywords or products to target, and set a bid, which is the most you will pay for one click. When a shopper searches, Amazon runs an auction among all eligible ads for that search and shows the winners in sponsored slots on the results page and product pages. You are charged only when the shopper clicks, and usually a little less than your bid, because the auction charges just enough to beat the next advertiser.
Worked example: a phone case seller on Amazon.in bids ₹8 on the keyword iphone 15 cover. Over a week the ad gets 60,000 impressions and 300 clicks at an average CPC of ₹6, so the spend is ₹1,800 plus GST. Those clicks bring 24 orders at ₹499, or ₹11,976 of ad sales. ACoS is ₹1,800 / ₹11,976 = 15%. The same mechanics apply on Amazon.ae, where a bid might be AED 1.20 and the invoice shows 5% VAT instead of GST.
The three ad types differ in where they appear and who can run them. Sponsored Products are single-product ads open to every seller. Sponsored Brands show a logo, headline and several products, and Sponsored Display reaches shoppers on and off Amazon; both need Brand Registry.
Search results on Amazon.in carry sponsored slots above and between organic listings, so a new product with no reviews can still be seen on day one. PPC is also the main lever for ranking: ad orders count towards sales velocity, which feeds organic rank.
The cost is the flip side. Amazon PPC is an auction, so CPCs rise when more sellers bid on the same term, and a campaign left alone can spend its daily budget on clicks that never convert. Blooprint's Amazon ads guide on blooprint.in covers setup; this page and the glossary stay on the terms you meet once campaigns are running.

PPC stands for pay per click. Amazon PPC is the name sellers use for Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, the three ad types billed per click.
There is no fixed fee. You pay per click at the auction price, typically a few rupees to a few tens of rupees depending on the category, plus 18% GST. You cap spend with a daily budget per campaign.
Amazon Ads is the wider brand, which also includes Amazon DSP and audio or video ads sold on impressions. Amazon PPC refers to the self-service sponsored ads billed per click.
Indirectly. Orders from ads add to sales velocity and can lift organic position, but Amazon does not give a ranking bonus for spending on ads.
