What is a good daily budget for Amazon ads?

A daily budget is the average amount an ad campaign is allowed to spend per day; once it is used, the campaign stops showing until the next day. A good daily budget for Amazon ads is one large enough to buy the clicks a product needs to produce a few orders a day, which for most Indian sellers means at least ₹500 per campaign.

Formula
Daily budget = target orders per day / CVR x CPC
Worked example
3 orders / 8% x ₹12 = ₹450 a day
Practical floor, Amazon India
₹500 a day per campaign; under ₹300 gives little data (agency view)
Flipkart
₹300 floor quoted by Blooprint; agencies suggest ₹500 to ₹1,000
Billing
Ad spend carries 18% GST; registered sellers usually claim it as input credit

How to work out a daily budget

Start from orders, not from a round number. Decide how many ad orders a day the product needs to learn from, divide by the conversion rate to get the clicks, and multiply by the average CPC. A product converting at 8% with a ₹12 CPC needs 12.5 clicks per order; three orders a day is 37.5 clicks, or ₹450. Set the budget a little above that so the campaign is not cut off during the evening peak.

Worked example on Amazon UAE: a product with a 6% conversion rate and an AED 1.50 CPC, targeting two orders a day, needs about 33 clicks, so AED 50 a day. On Flipkart the same sum applies to a PLA CPC campaign: at a ₹9 CPC and 5% CVR, three orders a day is 60 clicks, or ₹540.

Amazon may spend up to 25% more than the daily budget on a busy day and less on a quiet one, averaging out across the month. A ₹500 daily budget can therefore produce a ₹625 day, but a 30-day month will not exceed ₹15,000 plus GST.

These are agency and seller figures, not platform rules. Amazon accepts much smaller budgets; the problem with a ₹100 budget is not that it breaks anything but that it buys eight clicks a day and an order every few days, which is too little data to optimise. Blooprint's Amazon ads guide on blooprint.in covers the monthly budget plan; this page is about the per-campaign number.

Signs the daily budget is wrong

  • Out of budget before 6pm most days: either the budget is too low or morning bids are too high. Check pacing before raising it.
  • Never spends more than half the budget: the budget is not the constraint. Bids are below the auction or targets are too narrow.
  • Every campaign on the same round number: budgets should follow each product's margin and conversion rate, not a default.
  • Budget raised but ACoS rose with it: the extra money bought worse clicks. Fund the keywords that convert, not the whole campaign.

Frequently asked questions

What does daily budget mean in Amazon ads?

It is the average amount a campaign may spend per day. When it is used up, the campaign stops serving until the next day. Amazon can overspend by up to 25% on a given day while keeping the monthly total in line.

What is a good daily budget for Amazon ads in India?

Enough to buy the clicks for a few orders a day: target orders divided by conversion rate, times CPC. Indian agencies put the practical floor at about ₹500 a day per campaign.

What is the minimum daily budget for Amazon ads?

Amazon accepts very small budgets, but agencies report that under ₹300 a day you rarely get enough clicks to learn anything. Treat ₹500 as the working minimum for one product.

What is the minimum daily budget for Flipkart ads?

Blooprint's Flipkart ads guide quotes ₹300 as the floor. Agencies suggest ₹500 to ₹1,000 a day per campaign so it gets enough clicks to judge, higher in categories like mobiles.

Is GST charged on the daily budget?

GST at 18% is charged on ad spend, on top of what the campaign spends. Registered sellers usually claim it back as input tax credit, so it is often left out of budget planning.
